SPACE – Retail Property Consultants are retained by Scotch Corner Richmond LLP as sole letting agents for Scotch Corner Designer Village, the leading outlet and leisure destination covering the whole of the North of England.
Set in over 100 acres of healthy green space the 400,000 sq ft designer outlet and leisure destination has an expected visitor spend of £121 million in its first year of opening, ranking it as the sixth largest UK outlet and later rising to top 3 at maturity, according to retail research by industry expert Ken Gunn Consulting.
Located at one of the UK’s most iconic locations, junction 53 of the A1(M) North/South motorway and the A66, it will be one of the most accessible retail and leisure destinations in the UK.
29 million vehicles pass through Scotch Corner each year, making it highly attractive to the local catchment, a destination for a family day-out and an ideal break on a longer journey. The scheme has a wide catchment of 4.5 million people living within a 60-minute drive with almost 60 per cent of customers classified in the top 3 most affluent ACORN categories.
The site is at the gateway to The Yorkshire Dales and The North York Moors National Parks and with 96 million tourists visiting the area annually, Yorkshire is the second largest tourist destination in the UK adding £11bn to the regional economy.
SPACE are advising on the strategic occupier mix and leasing for the development, with a raft of high-quality brands including Boss, Tommy Hilfiger, Joules, Calvin Klein, Dune London, Levis, Skechers, Wagamama and Five Guys already committed to the development. There will be 73 retailers and eateries in the first Phase at opening and the UK’s largest Blue Diamond Home & Garden centre will open on the site soon after.
