Caffè Nero Heads Out Of Town

Caffè Nero is preparing to roll out stores on out-of-town fashion parks in a bid to capitalise on landlords’ desire to increase leisure provision at schemes. The cafe chain already has two out-of-town sites that it has been trialling, at Leamington Shopping Park and the Glasgow West End Retail Park, and is now fitting out another site at Malvern Shopping Park.
SPACE Retail Property Consultants has been appointed to advise on the rollout of cafes of around 1,500 sq ft.
Caffè Nero is seeking stores alongside brands such Marks & Spencer, Mamas & Papas and Boots. Rival coffee chains Starbucks and Costa are also ramping up their retail park store portfolios.
Guy Mauduit, property consultant at Caffè Nero, told Property Week: “It’s a good area of the market that we haven’t really considered in the past, so it’s an area for the business that’s fresh and open for us to look at”.
